The Ice Flyers Charity of the Month program presented by Florida Blue is an innovative initiative by the Pensacola Ice Flyers, designed to spotlight and support local charitable organizations throughout the hockey season. Each month, a different charity is featured, giving them a unique platform to share their mission, raise awareness, and generate support from the Ice Flyers’ passionate fan base and the wider Pensacola community. This program, sponsored by Florida Blue, exemplifies the Ice Flyers’ commitment to community engagement and social responsibility. It provides selected charities with invaluable exposure during games and events, helping them to reach new audiences and potential supporters. Through this program, fans have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to various important causes, fostering a spirit of giving and community involvement that extends far beyond the ice rink.
October 2024 – Pensacola Habitat for Humanity
Since 1981, Pensacola Habitat For Humanity for Humanity has built over 1,650 homes in the Escambia and Santa Rosa County areas. They help families find strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership. But their impact goes beyond building houses. They reach wide across the community, with various programs and services aimed at transforming communities, one homeowner at a time.
November 2024 – Pensacola Children’s Home Society – Navigator Program
This program provides supportive and helpful services for students, families, and educators of assigned schools. They help families in need of housing, counseling, job assistance and/or emergency food.
December 2024 – Mathew Chestnutt Scores! Charities
Mathew Chestnutt Scores! Charities is a charity that was created by longtime Play-by-Play Broadcaster Paul Chestnutt and his son Mathew who has cerebral palsy. Paul and Mathew raise awareness and funds for special needs children and adults in the Pensacola community.
January 2025 – Valerie’s House
Valerie’s House is a special place where children connect with one another and learn the tools to heal after they have experienced the death of someone they love.Valerie’s House expanded its services to Pensacola in late 2020, launching groups in early 2021 and most recently moved into their new, permanent location in December 2022.
February 2025 – Rally Gulf Coast
Rally, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, empowers volunteers across the country to raise awareness
and funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with
fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures.
